Morgan M. Yen, Principal

From a very young age, Morgan has had a passion for all things creative. She has maintained a high interest in design, and has been continuously cultivating that interest with experience.

Beginning with art & design courses in college, and working in her father’s cabinet shop as lead finisher, installer and quality control, she has had a hands-on approach to all of her projects.

 In 1999 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue new avenues in her career, starting at Snaidero in the Pacific Design Center, and moving on to bulthaup where she gained experience at high-end kitchen design. From there she went on to Eggersmann USA as the design director for the company. At Eggersmann, she was in charge of training new dealers in kitchen design standards as well as design oversight for all show rooms.

Since 2003, Morgan has had her own design business where she provides award-winning design services, problem solving and project management for her residential clients.

In 2009 she helped design an all-wood line of kitchen furniture to be manufactured in Switzerland.

M Design Studio, inc. was started in 2003 by Morgan MIchele Yen in order to offer specialized design services to clients, Architects and Interior Design professionals. Morgan has extensive experience in kitchen and bath design. She has worked with some of the top European and domestic cabinetry and furniture producers.

Space Planning

No kitchen can reach its potential without a proper plan. M Design Studio specializes in efficient, yet beautiful spaces. A well planned kitchen allows a home chef to work effortlessly with everything they need at their fingertips.

Documentation

Communication is key. M Design Studio offers detailed 2D AutoCAD plans that contain all vital information, including electrical / mechanical locations for construction. Plans must be clear to everyone involved in the project. It is important that the client understand what they will receive, and the construction team understand how to make it come together.

3D renderings may be provided as needed.

M Design Studio has extensive knowledge of current cabinetry systems and is well-versed in creating custom solutions. Finishes and details are as important to the end-result as the general layout. M Design Studio will  specify appliances, fixtures, counter tops and task lighting that will work seamlessly in your design.
